Sewage treatment

As part of its commitment to environmental sustainability, SOV has a centralized wastewater collection system and a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 500 m³ per day.

The facility utilizes mechanical and biological treatment processes, as well as wastewater disinfection, based on the fundamental principles of LOSBEL technology. The system employs a modern aerobic treatment process in which naturally occurring microorganisms break down and oxidize organic contaminants throughout their life cycle.

SOV operates a modern, fully equipped laboratory, where chemical and microbiological monitoring of the wastewater treatment process is carried out on a continuous basis.

Green energy

At Sosua Ocean Village, we take advantage of the Dominican Republic’s sunny climate by using solar energy throughout the community.

Solar panels help provide clean energy, while solar-powered streetlights illuminate our roads and common areas. This helps reduce our environmental impact and supports a stable electricity supply.

We also use electric golf carts and cars for transportation within the community, and electric vehicles for maintenance and security personnel.

Electrical infrastructure

SOV has completed a major modernization of its electrical infrastructure by installing an industrial 1.5 MW Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system equipped with a large battery array capable of instantly taking over the load of the community in case of disruptions from the external grid.

Also, a 12-cell switchgear system was commissioned to ensure safer and more flexible energy distribution across the property. The electrical network was further reinforced with the installation of new underground cable lines and the construction of two additional overhead power lines. The main power distribution node at the community entrance was also upgraded.

These improvements increase the resilience of the complex to external power outages and help ensure seamless energy supply for internal infrastructure
